Ho Chi Minh City: Wildlife handed over voluntarily
On August 24, an elongated tortoise (Indotestudo elongate) was handed over voluntarily to the Ho Chi Minh City FPD. The previous day, an ENV staff member received information about the tortoise being kept for five years by a local resident.
On August 20, an animal later identified as a pig-tailed macaque (Macaca leonina) was voluntarily transferred to the Ho Chi Minh City FPD by a local resident who had received the macaque as a gift. After learning about ENV, the man sent an email to ENV’s Wildlife Crime Unit saying that he wanted to hand over the animal.
