Ho Chi Minh City: Illegal wildlife being openly sold

On August 25, the ENV Wildlife Crime Hotline learned about wildlife being sold on the pavement and immediately notified the Ho Chi Minh City FPD. On September 16, the Ho Chi Minh FPD Mobile Team confiscated two Asiatic rock pythons (Python molurus), one elongated tortoise (Indotestudo elongate), two Malayan snail-eating turtles (Malayemys subtrijuga), two squirrels (unidentified) and two Chinese water dragons (Physignathus Cocincinus) and transferred them to the Cu Chi Rescue Centre. The two suspects evaded arrest.
