GEA Meeting Brings Asian Environmental Leaders Together
ENV Founding director Vu Thi Quyen joined leaders in Tokyo of environmental organizations from seven other Asian countries for a three-day workshop focused on addressing priority environmental issues in Asia.
The June 21-23 workshop was organized by the Japanese NGO, Global Environment Action (GEA) . Participants gave brief presentations on activities underway in their own countries, and had the opportunity to join government leaders from throughout Asia in the XIV Eco-Asian Congress on the environment that was underway in Tokyo at the same time.
GEA was established in 1991 by former Japan Prime Minister Noboru Takeshita, and has contributed to the international community in the area of global environmental protection and sustainable development.
