Binh Duong: Macaques transferred to nature reserve

On September 29, an informant notified ENV of a pig-tailed macaque (Macaca leonine) being kept at a restaurant in Binh Duong province. ENV immediately alerted the Binh Duong FPD, resulting in the  confiscation of the macaque.

On September 15, ENV received a phone call via the ENV Wildlife Crime Hotline reporting long-tailed macaques (Macaca fascicularis) being kept at a pagoda in Binh Duong province. After discussions with the head of the pagoda, four macaques were voluntarily handed over to the provincial FPD. On Oct 12, all five macaques were successfully transferred to the Lang Sen Nature Reserve.
