Binh Duong: Hawskbill turtles released into the sea

On October 01, two hawksbill marine turtles (Eretmochelys imbricata) were released into the sea by authorities in Binh Duong. The case was first reported to ENV by staff from Wildlife at Risk (WAR) based in HCM city after the turtles were observed for sale in a restaurant. ENV immediately notified Binh Duong authorities and coordinated with the inspection department of DARD and Cu Chi Rescue Center to confiscate the turtles. One hawksbill sea turtle weighed 3kg and one olive ridley sea turtle weighed 15kg, both are in good health condition. Special thanks to Binh Duong DARD, Wildlife at Risk, and the Cu Chi Rescue Center for excellent cooperation on this case!
