Hanoi: Bear event at West Lake Waterpark
From August 14 - 15, Education for Nature - Vietnam (ENV) carried out a Bear Protection Exhibition at West Lake Waterpark. During the event, films on bear bile extraction were aired and information boards displayed about bear species in Vietnam. Over the 2-day event, 1,062 pledges not to use bear bile and bear products were collected by ENV staff. Bear exhibitions are regular ENV events, held throughout Vietnam to raise public awareness about the need to protect Vietnam’s bears. Since May 2008, ENV has collected 63,654 pledges not to use bear bile and bear products.
