Two bear cubs rescued in Lai Chau province

On May 10, two bear cubs were rescued in the northern Lai Chau province by Soc Son Rescue Center of Hanoi.

The two bear cubs were reportedly found by an ethnic minority resident in Lai Chau province on May 5, 2010. On May 7, the resident voluntarily handed these animals to the Sin Ho district Forest Protection Department (FPD). According to the local FPD, the two bear cubs were identified as the Asiatic black bear (Selenarctos thibetanus), having a total weight of about 5 kilograms.
