Sad news: Rare Javan rhino found shot dead in Cat Tien National Park

On May 10, according to WWF, a rhinowas found shot dead in the Cat Tien National Park with its horn being removed. Local people were the first to report the dead body of a large mammal to National Park authorities on April 29th. A scientific examination by WWF and National Park authorities found the dead rhino to be the rare Javan rhinoceros (Rhinoceros sondaicus).
