Tra Vinh: A 70 kg green sea turtle released 

On September 20, ENV received a report that a man had discovered a green sea turtle (Cheloniamydas) weighing over 70 kg in Phuoc Binh village, Long Toan commune, Duyen Hai district, Tra Vinh province. The turtle was about 80 cm wide and one m long.

ENV asked local authorities about the case. The Fishery Resources Protection Department and Agricultural Inspection then came to encourage the man to release the turtle back to the sea.

On September 21, the green sea turtle was released into the sea.
