Thua Thien - Hue: Macaque confiscated
On August 13, Ms. Doan Thanh Huong, ENV case officer, received information from a volunteer that a macaque was being kept at a boarding house at Thua Thien, Hue province. She immediately passed on this information to the provincial FPD.
On August 17, according to Mr. Phuoc, Manager of Nature Reserve Department of Thua Thien, Hue, the FPD came to the subject's house and confiscated the macaque. The macaque was identified as a rhesus macaque (Macaca mulata) weighing approximately 2kg. The FPD intend to release the macaque back into the wild.
