Hanoi: Leopard cat transferred to Soc Son RC
On July 15, a leopard cat (Prionailurus bengalensis) kept at a local residence was transferred to Soc Son Rescue Center by Ha Noi Environmental Police (EP). A staff member at the Carnivore and Pangolin Conservation Program at Cuc Phuong NP called ENV to inform them he had seen the cat advertised on the internet. ENV contacted Ha Noi EP who immediately rescued the cat.
Leopard cat belongs to group IB of Decree 32/ND-CP - the group of rare wild animals forbidden to be in captivity, hunted, traded or killed.
