Ho Chi Minh City: 12 marine turtles transferred to Cu Chi RC
On 19 June 2011, 12 marine turtles were transferred to Cu Chi Wildlife RC by Ho Chi Minh authorities. In late April, ENV had investigated and discovered 19 green sea turtles were in captivity in an aquarium at Suoi Tien. ENV contacted the Ho Chi Minh authorities who subsequently investigated the establishment. Suoi Tien’s management board could not provide any documents to prove the legality for 12 of the 19 turtles. As a result, the authorities confiscated the 12 turtles and released them.
