Da Lat: Stump-tail macaque handed over to FPD
On March 1, a stump-tailed macaque (Macaca arctoides) was handed over to the Da Lat FPD by its owner in good health. The ENV Wildlife Crime Hotline received a call from a local resident who wanted to voluntarily hand over the macaque that she had received as a gift from a friend. ENV contacted the Da Lat FPD who agreed to receive the macaque where it will be kept before being released back into the wild.
The stump-tailed macaque is listed as protected under group IIB of Decree 32/2006/NĐ-CP – the group of wild animals restricted to be exploited and used for commercial purposes.
