Macaque kept on street in Ho Chi Minh City.
On June 29, a volunteer contacted the ENV Wildlife Crime Hotline to report about a macaque being chained to a tree and kept on pavement in Ho Chi Minh City. The information was then immediately transferred to the Mobile Team – HCM City Forest Protection Department (FPD), yet. They didn’t find out any track right after that. In the morning of June 30, the same volunteer rang the Hotline to tell that the macaque still being locked there. This piece of information was once again transferred to the Mobile Team and they finally confiscated the macaque on June 30. It is a long-tailed macaque with the weight of about 2.5 kg. His owner hasn’t been identified yet. The macaque is currently staying at HCMC FPD for settlement.
