One of the worlds rarest turtles rescued in Vietnam
The world’s last remaining Rafetuus swinhoei in the wild narrowly escaped death after being caught by fishermen in Son Tay district of Hanoi.  The 70kg soft-shell turtle was rescued by Forest Rangers and Police after a tense day-long standoff.  Rangers and conservationists returned the turtle to Dong Mo lake where it has lived for many years before it was washed downstream during floods several weeks ago leading to its capture.
