Community of black-shanked douc langurs discovered in Khanh Hoa province
A survey spanning three communes has revealed Khanh Hoa province’s Hon Keo area as home to more than 100 black-shanked douc langurs.

80 years’ imprisonment for tiger thieves
Eight members of a gang thought to be responsible for stealing a variety of wild animals in the past, have been sentenced to a total of 80 years' imprisonment for stealing a tiger from a farm in June 2007. The men were found guilty of poisoning, disemboweling, and transporting the tiger to Nghe An province where they then sold the animal.

Strange bird discovered in Quang Nam province
A Bengan vulture, a species previously unseen in Vietnam, was discovered in Quang Nam province last week, with an electronic tracking device attached to its body. According to the article, Birdlife International claims the bird, which died soon after being found, was marked by their organization and released in Cambodia several years ago.

Pollution at Bat Trang pottery village
Bat Trang, a 500 year old craft village, is currently suffering from severe pollution as a result of chemical emissions and solid waste released during the production process. According to a recent survey by the Ha Noi Department of Natural Resources and Environment, concentrations of CO2

Environmental issues at Mui Ne tourism site
Behind the luxurious resorts at Mui Ne, Binh Thuan province lie kilometers of beaches covered in waste from various sources. At present, only 50% of all resorts in the area have installed wastewater treatment systems.
