Asian golden cat rescued
QuangBinhProvince – On February 21st, Phong Nha-Ke Bang rangers confiscated a golden cat (Catopuma temminckii) from local hunters. The golden cat was transferred to the Rescue Center of Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park. Asian golden cats are protected under Group 1B of Decree 48.

Gaur killed in Ea So Nature Reserve
DacLacProvince – According to the Ministry of Nature Resources and Environment website, two gaur have been killed by local hunters in the Ea So Nature Reserve since the start of this year. The Ea So Nature Reserve is home to many species of protected wildlife, especially gaur (Bos gaurus) and banteng (Bos banteng).

Wildlife Watch

All of Vietnam’s macaque species are protected by law, however, they are still displayed publicly in many households and restaurants. These macaques were observed at a restaurant in Chi Linh district of Hai Duong province.
