Ho Chi Minh City: Two lorises successfully rescued
On 3 April, 2012, ENV received a call reporting two lorises for sale by a vendor on Le Dai Hanh Street in District 11. ENV immediately transferred the infomation to Forest Protection Deparment and Environment Police of Ho Chi Minh City and cooperated with them in rescuing the lorises. Although the subject escaped, both lorises, with the total weight of 1 kg, were transferred to Cu Chi Wildlife Rescue Center, and were described as in good health.
Lorises belong to group IB of Decree 32/2006/ND-CP which states that it is forbidden to use precious and vulnerable wildlife for commercial purposes.
