Wildlife confiscated from the illegal trade
Recently, Quang Ninh authorities have confiscated more than four tons of wild animals including snakes, monitor lizards, turtles, tockays, and spot-necked cranes from a public bus which was on its way to Mong Cai (Quang Ninh province) from Ho Chi Minh city. (Vietnamese version)

On March 12, a slaughtered tiger weighing more than 80kg was confiscated from a local house in Tuyen Quang province. (Vietnamese version)

Dugong slaughtered in Kien Giang province
Since the beginning of the year, up to ten dugongs stuck in fishing nets have been illegally slaughtered and traded by local residents in Phu Quoc Island District. (Vietnamese version)

Elephant killed in Thanh Hoa province
While waiting to be transferred to Yok Don National Park, an elephant was killed and had its tusks stolen. After that, it was also butchered by local residents. Local authorities are conducting investigations to find out who is responsible. (Vietnamese version)

New tockay species discovered in Vietnam
According to zoologist Ngo Van Tri, who has just discovered five new tockay species in Vietnam, the existence of another three new tockay species endemic to Vietnam will be announced in the near future. (Vietnamese version)
